Camera Mount Fit Guide
Find the camera mount that fits your canoe in two steps.
1. What shape is your iako?
Round (aluminum or carbon tube): go to step 2.
Rectangular wood (common on Bradley and Spec style canoes, about 70mm wide): you want the Rectangular Iako Camera Mount.
2. How big is your round iako?
Wrap a string or soft tape around the iako where you want the mount, then divide by 3.14 to get the diameter.
| Diameter | Typical canoe | Your mount |
|---|---|---|
| 60 to 67mm (about 2.5") | OC6 | OC6 Clamp Camera Mount: quick release, on and off in seconds |
| 2.5" (about 64mm) | OC6 | OC6 Lash Camera Mount: if you prefer your own lashing |
| Around 1.25" (about 32mm) | OC1, OC2 | OC1/OC2 Clamp Camera Mount |
Mounting at the stern instead?
On a Puakea Malolo, the Malolo Stern Camera Pole Mount turns the stern hole into a GoPro pole mount. It may fit other models; check your stern hole diameter first.
Finish your setup
Every mount uses the standard GoPro style 3 prong interface. Add a Camera Leash Kit so a huli doesn't cost you a camera, and 45° Camera Twist Adapters to aim the shot back at the crew.
